The Mary Joy & Tal Anderson Performing Arts Center
Marian’s Fine Arts Program encourages its students to express themselves openly on stage, on canvas or through music. Through the arts, students can discover their voice and the freedom to express themselves and develop their full potential. Marian provides instruction in instrumental and vocal music, art, dance and drama. Completed in 2014 with more than 22,000 square feet dedicated to the arts, the Mary Joy & Tal Anderson Performing Arts Center is recognized as one of the premier facilities in Omaha.
Lobby
This area serves as a reception site and gathering space for students and guests. It also features a ticket office and concession stand. Transitional art walls and donor recognition is also displayed here.
The Betsy Kish Auditorium
The auditorium has 400 seats equipped with tablet arms. In addition to musical and theater performances, it provides an appropriate space for speakers, class meetings, presentations and honors assemblies. The stage features a 40-foot proscenium and a full fly. A control booth for lighting, sound and video gives students experience in the technical aspects of a professional production.
Prop and Scene Shop
Sets and props for performances can be constructed in this area. It features a loading entrance with drive-thru acess to the stage for delivery of large props and equipment. Work tables, pull down electrical access and power tools are available for the construction of any set.
Costume Shop
Expansive and well-equipped, this room allows for costume creation, cleaning and storage. It is located near the dressing rooms which feature their own restrooms and storage areas for the cast. A monitor and sound system ensures that no curtain calls are missed.
Dance Studio
A dedicated dance studio features a Marley floor, mirrored walls and barres. The space is used for classroom instruction and extracurricular practice.
Music Room
The instrumental and vocal music program is housed in this acoustically correct space. A practice room allows for additional rehearsal and warm-up area. The space also serves a a "green room" for productions.
