Marian’s Fine Arts Program encourages its students to express themselves openly on stage, on canvas or through music. Through the arts, students can discover their voice and the freedom to express themselves and develop their full potential.
Furthermore, the Fine Arts Department creates a dynamic influence in the school community in which students and faculty can become more aware of the beauty surrounding them. The department emphasizes the lifelong effect of fine arts and its impact on students’ lives.
Marian provides instruction in instrumental and vocal music, art, dance and drama. Several of these areas offer a four-year academic program of study.
Support the Arts at Marian
Momentum is an auditioned competitive show choir that meets from August to mid-March. Auditions for the following year take place in the spring. Momentum competes in about five contests from January to March. More information here.
Orchestra Pit and Show Choir Band
Students that play an instrument are welcome to perform in the orchestra pit for our fall musicals. Participation depends on the specific orchestration of each show. Students may also be involved in the show choir band. Enrollment in a music class is NOT required.
The STAR (Student Theatre Aide Resource) Program provides Marian students with the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience and advance learning opportunities in the fields of lighting and sound, while providing service to the Marian community and beyond. The program is open to all students.
(Fine Arts at Marian Enthusiasts) is a booster club to support the visual and performing arts at Marian including: art, band, dance, drama and music. F.A.M.E. was developed to support these activities, and encourage a life-long appreciation for the Arts.Parent support and involvement is needed to develop the goals of each Fine Art area and build enthusiasm for long-range goals of the Arts at Marian.
If you would like to help enhance the personal development of Marian’s young women in the Fine Arts, become a member of F.A.M.E. and volunteer your help with F.A.M.E. projects this school year.
