Physical Education

Marian is committed to developing the whole student, academically, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. Marian’s physical education classes promote a healthy lifestyle and spirit, encouraging students the self-reliance to embrace wellness in their daily lives.

All Marian students will participate in two semesters of physical education. During this time students gain the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to engage in lifelong physical activity. In doing so, Marian students have the opportunity to release stress while having fun with classmates.

Objectives

Students who complete a Marian physical education course will be able to:

  1. Practice physical fitness through an exercise program that encourages a healthy daily routine along with recreation and leisure time.
  2. Experience a variety of individual and team activities so that each student may experience success and/or discover new interests in physical activity for a lifetime.
  3. Identify and practice healthy lifestyle choices.

Requirements

Students are required to Intro to Wellness and one other PE course of their choice.
