Congratulations to Seniors Caroline McDonald and Liz Nguyen who qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association national tournament.
This year, 22 Marian students traveled to Boston from Feb. 19-21, to participate in Harvard Model Congress, along with Marian teachers Jillian Roger, Susie Sisson and Katy Salzman. Throughout the conference, Marian students collaborated with other students from all over the country to tackle a wide array of complex issues. They wrote bills, debated legislation, managed crises, held press conferences, and wrote news stories.

Momentum, Marian's Show Choir has kicked off its competition season. Their theme for the season is "Fire and Ice," and they are on fire!
On Jan. 22, Casteria Agbeletey ’26, Majie Ahna Winfrey ’26, Kaylene Bialas ’25 and Elizabeth Buescher ’25 participated in the Poetry Out Loud school competition. Although Winfrey was named the winner, all four girls demonstrated their knack for presentation and the decision was competitive.
Every Wednesday, a group of juniors and a faculty or staff chaperone spend the day volunteering at the Open Door Mission as part of the junior retreat experience.
Principal Susie Sullivan earned her Ed.D in educational leadership from Creighton University. She completed a dissertation on how female math teachers build confidence in female students. She found that the all-girls environment is more supportive of math success because students aren't afraid to ask questions.
Marian students collected 1,905 jars of peanut butter and jelly to help fill holiday meal boxes for Operation Others. The Omaha Catholic high schools have banned together as a collaborative force to fight hunger and raises awareness about food scarcity across the Omaha area.
Three Marian band and choir students showcased their talents at All-State Music in November.
