Piper Albers ’26 recently represented Marian at the Distinguished Young Women of Nebraska program. This respected statewide scholarship and personal development competition is part of the national Distinguished Young Women organization, founded in 1958 to support high school girls with scholarships, life skills training and a strong peer network.
Distinguished Young Women has welcomed more than 780,000 participants and awarded over $122 million in scholarships at local, state and national levels. The program challenges participants across five categories: interview, scholastics, talent, fitness and self‑expression.
Piper’s talent and spirit shone brightly with a sweep of scholarships:
- $1,000 Interview Skills Scholarship
- $500 Talent Scholarship (for dance performance)
- $500 Spirit Award, voted by her peers
- $500 Top 5 Finalist Scholarship
These honors reflect Piper’s dedication, discipline and leadership — in perfect alignment with the organization’s mission to empower young women to develop their full potential.
Piper described the experience as “life-changing,” adding that even without winning, the camaraderie and host family hospitality over the three days were invaluable.
Marian extends its congratulations to Piper. As a spirited performer and thoughtful representative, she sets an inspiring example for her classmates.
