Students Qualify for National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament

Students Qualify for National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament
Julie Brumbach

It’s a big deal! Seniors Caroline McDonald and Liz Nguyen have qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association's national tournament. Caroline secured her spot by winning the Nebraska district tournament in Big Questions Debate, while Liz qualified in the House of Representatives (Congressional Debate).

The National Speech & Debate Association connects, supports and inspires a diverse community dedicated to empowering students through speech and debate—a mission that aligns closely with Marian’s commitment to empowering girls through education.

This year, the tournament will take place in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 15-20. With 6,700 students and 42 winners it will be a tough competition. Stay tuned for results!
