Principal Susie Sullivan Named Archdiocesan Administrator of the Year

Principal Susie Sullivan Named Archdiocesan Administrator of the Year
Susan Rosenlof

Congratulations to Principal Susie Sullivan, who has been named the 2024 Archdiocesan Metro Administrator of the Year. She will be recognized along with the Archdiocesan Teachers of the Year at the 47th annual Archbishop's Dinner for Education on Sept. 12, 2024.

The candidate pool is always strong, as all 37 schools within the archdiocese are eligible to submit nominations. The Archdiocesan Administrator of the Year honors administrators who embody the following characteristics:

  • Strong personal commitment to Catholic education
  • Held in high regard by peers, students and parents
  • Displays Christian character inside and outside of the classroom
  • Willingness and ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the needs of students
  • Involvement in school programs outside of the classroom
  • Service above and beyond the ordinary
  • Mentoring experience
  •  Evidence of life-long learning

Receiving this honor is a professional and personal milestone for Susie, and Marian is the ultimate beneficiary. To have someone of her caliber at the helm is a tremendous credit to our school. We continue to be blessed by Susie's leadership, passion and foundational belief in the important work of preparing young women for college and beyond in a Catholic, all-girls environment.  Susie has particularly excelled in creative ways that are driving results in Catholic identity and mission and academic excellence.

Susie Spethman Sullivan '80 returned to Marian in 2015 after 11 years of teaching in the Millard Public Schools.  She holds a master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in educational administration and supervision, with a 7-12 principal endorsement. She'll soon complete a doctorate in educational leadership.
