Students Earn Top Honors in Scholastic Art Awards

Students Earn Top Honors in Scholastic Art Awards
Aseret Baca

Marian High School students were recognized for their artistic achievements in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, earning six Gold Keys, nine Silver Keys, and thirteen Honorable Mentions across a variety of artistic categories.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards present students with both regional and national honors for their creative works. These distinctions can play an important role in student artistic development and recognition.

The awards are judged in three categories: Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and Gold Key, with regional results announced each January. Gold Key–winning works advance to the national level for consideration for additional honors, including national Gold and Silver Medals and various scholarships. Some national winners also have the opportunity to have their work displayed at Carnegie Hall.

This year’s regional winners from Marian will also have their artwork displayed at the Omaha Public Schools TAC Building.
