Exposure to STEM in high school promotes continued interest in STEM education after high school. In fact, nearly 30% of the class of 2025 has reported that they will be pursuing science or engineering majors.To help students explore the various STEM disciplines, Marian has expanded its STEM curriculum.
Madeline Clark '21 recently graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where she not only earned a degree in mechanical engineering but also established a team to advance critical biomechanical research on fiber-tag sutures.

Marian students aren't the only ones graduating. Principal Susie Sullivan officially earned her Ed.D in educational leadership from Creighton University in December. Her dissertation on how female math teachers build confidence in female students found that the all-girls environment is more supportive of math success.
Congratulations, graduates! Yesterday Marian celebrated its 67th annual commencement exercise. The Class of 2025 will be attending schools in 21 states and the District of Columbia. Congratulations to Senior Jasmine Carranza who earned a prestigious QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, securing a full ride to Colorado College this fall. The scholarship recognizes high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds and includes tuition, room and board, and other college expenses.
Before he was a teacher, Theology Teacher Mark Koesters worked for the California Division of Forestry. For two years, the 19-year-old Koesters worked on the fire crew and learned to cook.
Marian celebrated its annual May Crowning on Friday, May 2. A long-standing Marian tradition, May Crowning brings the school together to honor and reflect on Mary as a role model. This year’s May Queen is senior Lucy Gerraughty.
Congratulations to Marian French students on their induction into the Société Honoraire de Français. To achieve this honor, students must earn an A in every French class through the third quarter of French III.
