Marian High School is proud to announce that three students signed letters of intent on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. While they have displayed stellar performances on the court, field and in the pool, their time spent in the classroom and community is just as impressive.
Maria Determan ’18 signed a music scholarship to sing in choir at The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. Maria was a member of the 2015 and 2017 All State Choirs. She was also awarded the Director’s Award for choral music in 2017. Additionally, she had the privilege of singing the National Anthem in 2018 for the NSAA. Maria has been the secretary for the National Honor Society for the past two years and has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll for her entire high school career. She is a member of the English Honor Society, the Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Maria has also participated in Show Choir, the Marian Big Sister Program, Hearts of Marian, Decade Darlings. She is also the founder and co-president of the newly formed Sundae Wednesday Club. She has also given many hours to Recruitment Team and Stephen Center for the homeless.
Lauren Isenberg ’18 signed to play volleyball at the University of Tulsa. Lauren was named an Omaha World-Herald Honorable Mention for volleyball in 2017 and was a member of the NSAA Academic All-State 2016 and 2017 teams for basketball and volleyball. She was a member of the 2017 State Championship volleyball team and has been named the Scholar Athlete for Marian’s 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame. Lauren has been a member of the Principal’s Honor Roll for the past three years as well as being a member of almost every national honor society at Marian. One of her proudest moments this year was being named a National Merit Finalist.
Lauren is a member of the CEOs(Crusaders Elevating Others) and is a member of the Science Club, Campus Ministry, Math Club and Recruitment Team. She has volunteered her time as a nanny for a child with Down Syndrome and has served at the Open Door mission. She has also volunteered with the Youth Emergency Services Center at the Hope Center for Kids.
Olivia Tate ’18 signed to swim at Saint Louis University. Olivia is a member of the 2015 State Championship swimming and diving team and the 2016, 2017 and 2018 runner-up state teams. She was the Metro Conference Champion in the 100 free and runner-up in the 200 free. At State, Olivia was third in the 100 free and second in the 200 free. Olivia is also an All-American on the 2015 and 2017 free relays. She attended the NCA Leadership Summit at Midland’s University and has volunteered at the Open Door Mission. She uses her swimming skills to coach swimming to children ages 6-13.
