Kennedy Gochenour ’18 signed for track and field at Dartmouth College. Kennedy has been a member of the All-Nebraska track and field team since sixth grade. She has been a four-time national champion in the javelin. She was also named the Cornhusker Flyers most outstanding and improved athlete. Kennedy is the co-editor of Marian’s literary “Burn Magazine” and is co-president of the Junior Classical League. She volunteers her time taking care of pets at The Animal House.
Delaney Gunn ’18 will play soccer at Saint Louis University. Delaney has been a member of the varsity soccer team for three years and a state champion for the last two years. She was Marian’s leading goal scorer in her sophomore year and was named Second Team All-State. In her junior year, she was named Second Team All-Metro. Delaney is a member of the Math Club, and she spends her time coaching and mentoring with youth development soccer programs, as well as helping deliver Christmas dinners to the elderly.
Jaedyn “JJ” Johnson ’18 will play soccer at Texas A&M University. She was a member of the 2017 State and Metro championship team. JJ also played junior varsity basketball at Marian her junior year. JJ volunteers her time coaching at summer camps for Gretna and Northstar Soccer Clubs. She is also a member of the Spanish Club and CEOs.
Patty Kliver ’18 will play soccer at Oral Roberts University. She has been a member of the varsity soccer team for four years. She additionally played on four Nebraska State Cup championship teams. She has had to work through a knee injury her sophomore year and is looking forward to competing again in her final season as a Crusader. Patty has a love for art, religion and service. She volunteers at the Nebraska Humane Society during the weekdays and has been a member of Polar Plunge.
Malika Seran ’18 will play soccer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was a member of the 2016 and 2017 state teams She was also a member of the Midwest NPL Champion team in 2017 and a regional finalist. Malika is an officer for Future Business Leaders of America, and is involved with Spanish Club and Math Club. She has also participated in Football for the World since 2016.
Delaney Stekr ’18 will play soccer at the University of Minnesota. She has been a member of the varsity soccer team for four years. She is also a state and metro soccer champion and was named Second Team All-State and All-Metro her sophomore season. Additionally, she earned honorable mention her freshman and junior years. Delaney is the treasurer for the National Honor Society, has been a Marian Big Sister, and a freshman retreat leader. She is also involved in Future Business Leaders of America, Marian Students for Life, CEOs, and spends time volunteering with Youth Emergency Services and Special Olympics soccer camps.
Megan Valenzuela ’18 will play soccer at Drake University. She has been a member of the varsity soccer team for four years and played on two state championship teams. Megan was named Second Team All-State in 2016, and Second Team honorable mention in 2017. Megan is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Science Honor Society. She is also a member of the CEO club. She enjoys volunteering at the Open Door Mission and assists in tutoring other students. She also stays busy coaching and refereeing soccer games.
