Marian High School is proud to announce that eight Crusader student-athletes signed letters of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 8. While they have displayed stellar performances on the court, field and in the pool, their time spent in the classroom and community is just as impressive. Together, they are involved in over 70 clubs and activities, and they have a combined average GPA of 3.98!
Kate Bilyeu ’18 will play volleyball at University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Kate was an All-State honorable mention and All-Metro in 2015, and she was named Prep Super 25 from 2016-2018. Kate is a three-year varsity letter winner and is also a member of the science club and running club. She is currently a member of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission and participates in the alumnae mentoring program, Mpower.
Lily Heim ’18 signed to play volleyball at Southern Methodist University. Lily is a member of the 2014 and 2015 state championship volleyball teams. She has served as a captain for the past three years. In 2016, Lily was 1st Team All-State Class A, 1st Team All-Metro and 2nd Team Super State. Lily is vice president of student board and a member of campus ministry and CEOs club. Lily’s volunteer resume is packed with service in the Dominican Republic, Habitat for Humanity, grade school retreats and American Heart Association Sweethearts.
Grace Hern ’18 signed to play volleyball at Colorado State University-Pueblo. A two-year letter winner, Grace is a member of the English, Spanish and science honor societies, as well as Rho Kappa and the National Honor Society. In addition to volleyball, Grace has been a member of Marian’s basketball and track teams.
Delaney Kottke ’18 will swim at University of South Dakota. Delaney is an All-American in the 200 free relay and is a metro individual champion, state finalist and a member of the 2016 state championship swimming and diving team. Delaney is a member of journalism, campus ministry and C.E.Os (Crusaders Elevating Others).
Maggie Mullen ’18 will play volleyball at University of Louisville. Maggie has lettered two years in volleyball and has been named to the Prep 2018 Dig Prospect, where she is ranked 11th out of 150 athletes. Maggie is also an outstanding track athlete; she placed sixth in the state in the 100-meter run, and her 4×400 relay team finished eighth in the state. Maggie is a member of the science club and Harry Potter club. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa and JCL Honor Society. Maggie also finds time to volunteer and has helped with the Winnebago service trip.
Emma Raabe ’18 signed to play softball at University of Missouri. Emma was named a member of the All-Metro Team by the Lincoln Journal Star, Super State Team and Omaha World-Herald Class A Team. She was 1st Team All-State, All-Divisions. Emma is senior class president, a campus ministry member, a retreat leader, and a member of French club, science club, C.E.Os and Marian Students for Life. Emma volunteers at Madonna School. She also teaches kids with disabilities how to play the sport of softball.
Maddie Wiedenfeld ’18 will play volleyball at University of New Hampshire. Maddie was named to the Super 25 Class of 2018 High School Watch List. She was Class A All-State honorable mention in 2016. Maddie is also involved in campus ministry.
Sarah Wing ’18 signed with University of Iowa to play volleyball. As a junior, Sarah was named to the 2nd Team All-Class and All-Metro. She was named 1st Team Class A by the Lincoln Journal Star and 3rd on Super State. Her sophomore year, she was All-Metro honorable mention. Sarah is a member of science club and Marian Students for Life. She is also a campus ministry service site leader. She has been on the principal’s honor roll for the last three years.
