Leadership Institute:
For girls entering grades 7-8
June 17-20, 2013
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Cost: $70
The focus of this camp is on three types of leadership –
personal leadership, interpersonal leadership and group leadership. The
skills will be taught using experiential learning activities (i.e.
fun games!) and hands-on projects. The girls will plan, organize and
implement a closing activity to which their parents will be invited.

NEW! Marian Summer Camps with Omaha Creative Institute for 6th - 8th-Grade Girls
WEEK ONE
June 10-14, 1 - 4:30 p.m., $150
Mixed Media with Dori Settles (1.5 hrs.)
Explore a variety of mediums including: paper,
paint, fabric, rubber-stamping, and found objects. Instructor Dori Settles will introduce young artists to design composition using mixed media and students will leave with handmade creations.
AND
Encaustic with Margaret Berry (1.5 hours)
Experience the magic of hot wax with encaustic art making. Instructor Margaret Berry will guide young artists in working with melted wax, color
theory, and technique. Quick, luminous, versatile wax paint has unlimited possibilities. Students will walk away with several beautiful works of art.
WEEK TWO
June 17-21, 1- 4:30 p.m., $150
Watercolor with Madalyn Bruning
Instructor Madalyn Bruning will guide
students in watercolor application, color theory, and brushstroke technique. Students will leave with their own masterpieces.
AND
Caricature and Cartooning with Tom Kerr
Make ideas come to life using caricature and cartoon drawing. Instructor Tom Kerr, former cartoonist/illustrator for the Omaha World-Herald, will teach the art of basic drawing concepts and ideas such as shading and shape. Students will leave with several of their own designs.
All workshops will be held at Marian 7400 Military Ave., Omaha, NE 68134
Cost covers both workshops for the week.
