UNMC hosted its second-annual fundraiser for Parkinson's disease research on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, 2012. Omahans Ted and Colleen Wuebben '71 hosted their own skate-a-thon by flooding their backyard for three years before the event moved to UNMC. Colleen was 52 when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2005. She has four daughters and a sister who are also Marian alums.

Caroline Maher '06 received her commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army on December 21, 2011. She graduated from Creighton University magna cum laude in May 2011 with a a Bachelors in Science Chemistry with a secondary major in Mathematics.

Karly Jurgensen '04 travelled with Mannheim Steamroller to Phoenix, AZ this November to perform live at Grand Canyon University Arena for the Pandora Unforgettable Moments on Ice show. Professional ice skaters such as Brian Boitano and Ekaterina Gordeeva skated to classic Mannheim hits, and American Idol star, David Archuleta performed as well!
