Marian’s
Phone-A-Thon dates back to the late 1990’s, where alums gathered at Mutual of Omaha to connect with classmates around the country in support of the students at Marian High School. Dialing on rotary desk phones must have been a chore and no computerized records to refer to! My how things have changed! We’ve traveled from Mutual of Omaha to the offices of Central States where only alums were called, to finally home, Marian High School, where Phone-A-Thon is conducted each year using cell phones. Thousands of calls are made to current parents, alums, and parents of alums. No more rotary dialing! Personal contact from a peer is the success of The Marian Fund’s Phone-A-Thon. Each year more than two-hundred volunteers gather over 12-14 evenings connecting with their peers securing hundreds of pledges and gifts, (and $$) for Marian’s most important and vital fundraising program. A gift to Marian’s annual giving program, The Marian Fund makes up approximately 13 percent of the school’s annual budget. The dollars raised is used entirely in the current year to support programs. Gifts from the Phone-A-Thon makes up almost half of The Marian Fund goal. The success of the Phone-A-Thon is because of YOU!
