New Uniform Policy for the 2010-2011 School Year

The seniors, the Class of 2011 (current juniors), will be allowed to wear the current Marian uniform for the 2010-2011 school year with two exceptions:

  1. The grey Marian sweatshirt will no longer be allowed except on Spirit Days.
  2. Plain black shorts must be worn under the skirts or skorts.  No printed boxers or shorts will be allowed.

As always, the uniform must be in good condition and repair.

The freshman, sophomore and junior classes will transition to the new uniform for the 2010-2011 school year.

  1. Royal blue long-sleeved or short-sleeved banded polo shirt with Marian emblem embroidered in white.
  2. New royal blue plaid box-pleat skirt or skort; must be no shorter than 2” above the knee.  The skirt will have pockets.  The skort will be the same style as the current skort uniform.
  3. Grey cardigan with Marian emblem embroidered in blue.
  4. Black pants with Marian emblem embroidered (location on pant TBD).
  5. Plain black shorts must be worn under the skirts or skorts.  No printed boxers or shorts will be allowed.
  6. White short-sleeved t-shirts may be worn under the polos.  No long-sleeved t-shirts.
  7. Black or grey socks and black tights may be worn. The socks must be 6” from the floor.
  8. Shoe policy will remain the same.
  9. Spirit Days will remain the same and the current grey Marian uniform sweatshirt will be allowed on those days.

Grandfather clauses:
The navy blue, long-sleeved, embroidered cardigans and navy blue socks will be permitted; however, none will be available for sale.  If you currently own a navy blue cardigan or navy blue socks, you may continue to wear them.  The khaki pants and navy tights will not be grandfathered in.  Students who wish to wear pants must wear the black uniform pants with the Marian emblem.

Free Uniform Voucher
All current freshman and sophomore students will receive a voucher in the spring for one free uniform consisting of a short-sleeved, embroidered polo and a plaid skirt or skort.

Uniform Donation
Marian High School will be donating the existing uniforms to a school in Uganda.  A donor has generously come forward to cover the costs of shipping.  Watch for collection details at a later date.
