Marian High School is Nebraska’s only Class A, Catholic, North Central Accredited college preparatory school for girls. Marian was founded in 1955 by the Servants of Mary, a religious order of sisters (sometimes called Servites), whose mission is to be a compassionate presence to those who suffer or are in need. Their belief was that Marian should be available to any girl who wanted to receive a Servite education, regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic status. Five decades later, Marian continues to be committed to this mission.
During its 50 year history, Marian has prepared nearly 7,000 young women for college and beyond and was twice named winner of the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award for Academic Excellence.
- Marian has been a North Central Accredited college preparatory high school for almost two decades.
- On average, 99 % of Marian’s students go on to college. Marian provides a challenging academic program designed to meet the individual needs of each student. Click here to see a list of colleges and universities where the Class of 2007 was accepted.
- Coupled with a wide range of activities, our program provides each young woman the opportunity to develop spiritually, intellectually and socially.
Located in northwest Omaha, the school sits on 23 acres of land, including one acre of developed wetland and two acres of native Nebraska trees and grasses planted by students as part of a science and social studies department collaboration.
With a current enrollment of 650, Marian’s size is ideal for what researchers continue to find: optimum enrollment size (600-900) fosters stronger student achievement, higher participation among students and a richer curriculum.
- Faculty, staff and administration total more than 80 which yields a student/teacher ratio of 15:1. In addition, more than 60% of the faculty have advanced degrees in their areas.
- Students of all religious, cultural and economic backgrounds are welcome at Marian. Our students come from more than 44 zip codes throughout the Omaha area and Iowa - Click here to see a map!
- To ease the burden of tuition for our families, Marian provides approximately 48% of the student body financial assistance totaling more than $425,000.
Visitor parking is located to the north of the gym. All visitors must check in at the Main Office.
