February Calendar of Events

The Spirituality of Women: Loved Ones, Rituals, and Sacred Spaces.
Saturday, February 18, 9:00 a.m. - noon, $35

This retreat invites us to look at our daily lives and uncover the sacred in the ordinary. Its focus is on discovering the sacred spaces in our living and working areas, identifying those persons who reveal God’s love to us, and exploring those rituals, traditions, and aspects of prayer that lead us to a deeper relationship with God. The deeper meaning of our lives is revealed when we understand the connection between celebrating Eucharist at Mass and gathering around the dining room table. As we break open our lives to one another, the Spirit blesses us and reveals to us the holiness of womanhood and family. Laura Baum-Parr, school psychologist, marriage and family enrichment presenter and retreat leader.

Has the military become too important in American life? Upon departing his presidency, Dwight D. Eisenhower issued a stern, cogent warning about the burgeoning “military industrial complex,” foretelling with ominous clarity the state of the modern world with its incestuous entanglement of political, corporate, and Defense Department interests.
